TRASH BASH Saturday Sept 25

Come out for the 2nd annual River des Peres Trash Bash! This year, we are concentrating our efforts by combining the Trash Bash with the 11th annual River des Peres Cleanup. You can lend a hand near your neighborhood because we have clean-up sites throughout the enitre River des Peres watershed, including several along Great Rivers Greenway trails.

See the flyer for more details. Also we please ask that you sign a liability waiver prior to volunteering.

Online registration is now open!

Habitat Restoration

Join the River des Peres Watershed Coalition to restore habitat to beautify the riverbank, create more favorable habitat, and reduce erosion. We are currently focusing our efforts on two sites; Deer Creek Park and Mona Terrace Park. We are removing litter and invasive plant species (Japanese hops, Bush honeysuckle, and Wintercreeper Euonymus), and planting a variety of native trees, shrubs and plants to restore the natural beauty along the River des Peres and Deer Creek. We’re conducting this year’s Habitat Restoration events on the first Mondays, third Wednesdays, and fourth Sundays of each month.

Mondays and Wednesdays we’ll be “Diggin’ & Dinin” - we’ll work at Deer Creek Park then stop at a nearby restaurant for dinner and refreshments.

Please note that “Tuesdays at the Terrace” has been changed to “Sundays at the Terrace.” We’re working Sunday mornings to suit the schedules of our regular-volunteers AND to beat the evening heat!

Please come out and join us at these two sites as we work to improve the habitat of the River des Peres and Deer Creek, as the habitat restoration would be impossible without the time and effort of volunteers.

Rain Barrels for Sale

Harvest rainwater using your very own Rain Barrel ! After two years of tweaking the design and hearing feedback from our users, we are satisfied in the quality of our barrels. We offer our thanks to the Coca Cola Company for their generosity - their food-grade barrels are the foundation of our rain barrels.

Download our order form (.pdf 145kb), informational package (.pdf 238kb), or our installation guide (.pdf, 1.7Mb).

And now…we offer a professionally manufactured rain barrel from Riversides. We feel this is the best looking most functional barrel on the market. Download our informational brochure / order form for more details.
